Recipe: Between the Sheets Cocktail

1 serving

  • 1oz brandy
  • 1oz light rum
  • 1oz Cointreau
  • 1oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup

Mix all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into chilled cocktail glasses and serve with a lemon twist.

Simple Syrup is a water and sugar solution frequently used in coctails. The proportions generally used are one part water to two parts sugar. To make a Simple Syrup heat water in a saucepan and gradually stir granulated sugar into the hot water until the sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat and allow to cool.

If you are making this cocktail and have a bar nip measure, 1 oz is equal to 1 nip.

A "Lemon Twist" is a garnish made from the peel of a lemon. Simply use a vegetable peeler to remove a 2-inch strip of peel. Twist the peel with the rind on the inside, holding the rind just above the cocktail to release the lemon oil over the surface of the drink. Then run the rind around the rim of the glass and drop it into the cocktail.
